About Affiniti – We are a venture capital platform that’s creating a world of shared prosperity. We build and manage investor communities and investment funds. We use our technology platform to syndicate funds for angels, accelerators and Micro-VC’s and other members of our venture community. We use our expertise to co-manage ventures funds on behalf of corporates, foundations, family offices and other institutions.

Affiniti supported by the largest online venture capital syndicate for women and minority founders in the US - with over 300 accredited investors in our community within 1 year of operations. By creating a more inclusive community of investors participating in early stage and impact investing, we are facilitating access to capital for under-represented entrepreneurs. We are recruiting a deal operations intern to join us to continue building the largest early stage investing platform syndicating millions of dollars on behalf of investors from underrepresented and underestimated communities. Reporting to the CEO and Operations Partner, the intern will act as the hub and source of expertise on all transaction processes. As such, the intern must be willing to ramp up quickly to gain familiarity with deal execution (particularly with longer duration transactions such as the private placements space in which we operate).

Roles and responsibilities:

·        Aid in architecture and implementation of a firm that transacts in millions of dollars annually

·        Everything to get venture funds from launched ("I want to syndicate/invest in X startup") to closed (documents signed and wired)

·        Work as part of a tightly knit team, particularly with business development and legal, to set up process, timeline, and deliverables for each step in a deal.

·        Support Operating Partner as secondary point of contact for startups, investors, and regulatory bodies, accountants, etc.)

·        Maintain up-to-date records and documentation for all transaction processes (Closings checklists and documentation: NDAs / engagements; transaction documents (including handling redlines and hand-offs); KYC and other compliance files)

·        Ensure flow of funds occurs appropriately audit / spot-check automated funds transfers, ensure internal records are up to date, coordinate with clients when needed, and that compliance processes are followed.

·        Compile closing packet for compliance records at the end of each syndication transaction batch.

Requirements:

·        Rising Senior, Pre-Law, Law student or full-time employee

·        Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills

·        Passion for investing and entrepreneurship

·        A progressive belief in social/racial/economic justice, and shared prosperity

·        Comfort with technology tools to enable collaboration with engineering / product to ensure right tools are built to automate all deal processes, including enabling and improving CRM processes

·        Overwhelming desire to improve processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, potential risks, and identify / implement solutions

Location:

·        Washington DC or NYC is preferred, but not required
